. welcome back. i am stan stovall. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's check the weather and traffic. >> sunshine, temperatures in the 70's last weekend. now summer will make a brief comeback. upper 80's today. let's start with what is happening right now. it is comfortable at the present time. this afternoon will feel more like summer. 93% relative humidity. that will be coming down. 88 is the forecasted high temperature. the average high temperature is 81. i know it has been dry out there. we could use some rain. we have a slight chance for rain in the seven-day forecast. >> we have a few things to mention. we did pick up an accident at edmonson avenue. there is fire activity at hillsdale road, which is closed in both directions. the alternate will be garrison. in columbia, we do have a fire. it has shut down harmel drive. alltel it will be cedar lane -- the alternates will be cedar lane. no problems out there. 95 at the toll plaza, switching over to a live view. southbound traffic is in a little heavier but no delays to report. that is the latest on

'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's get a check on weather and traffic on this friday. >> there is some fog out there. ensing up.in 90 minutes delays at queens an anne county. the fog is beyond that. it goes west of the bay. the fog does not show up on the radar. the stormy weather is either ofth of us and inla line storms crossing the mississippi valley. that will bring us relief from the heat we expect today. hot and humid. but foggy this morning, at least in some areas. we will detail that in just a few minutes. let's check on traffic. >> the fog is out there. you cannot see it on our cameras. we have a few things to mention -- you can see it on the cameras. there are closures at charles street, a cathedral street in mount vernon because of the book festival. there is a car fire in the white marsh area on 95, but that does not look like to be affecting traffic. things are looking good on the topside of the beltway. use those low beams to get through that. this is the key bridge. very light volume. we do have some fog warnings on the area bridges. be a

>> and i'm mindy basara, thank you for joining us. let's take a look at weather and trafficing this wednesday morning. looks like it was hot yesterday. >> 91. that broke a record for us. 55 times we've been 09 or above this summer. -- we've been 90 or above this summer. the next couple of days it will cool off into the 70's. we've had a little of a front that came through triggering a couple showers. coming through the western suburbs through fret rick and howard county. we'll put a 30% chance in there that you'll run into a little bit of rain early. a slight chance for a shower this morning. breezy and warm this afternoon with a high temperature of 88. we'll check your seven-day forecast coming up. >> nothing having a major impact at this hour. one vehicle that pun out into the guardrail at executive drive in howard county. meantime another one still being cleared in anne arundel county. 261 at -- 51 miles per hour on southbound 95 coming out of the northeast. west side checking out fine, and the rest of the major roadways looking good. a live view 29 at 32 and in howard count

home. jennifer franciotti joins us for more on the investigation because police are asking for the public's help. they are hoping somebody saw something that will lead to his arrest. >> it is terrifying. it's a nice neighborhood. i do not know what to think. >> this is the second situation i have heard of it in the neighborhood. there was a home invasion a couple of houses down. >> residents have a mixed reaction to word of a sexual assault in their neighborhood. the attack happened on monday morning. a man broke into a home in glen bernie and sexually assaulted an 83-year-old woman. >> it is a disturbing crime. we will do everything we can to bring this case to closure. >> police are looking for a white male in his early 20's. officers are stepping up neighborhood patrols. they advised neighbors on better ways to protect themselves. >> have a motion detector lighting. secured your front door, your windows, at any gates, make sure you lock those. >> anyone with information is being asked to call anne arundel county police. now back to you. >> police are investigating a pair
basara. thanks so much for joining us. let's get a check of weather and traffic on this friday morning. feels nice and cool out there. >> yesterday was nice, a little breezy, but nice. sun was out, temperatures were outstanding, and after the long, hot summer, it needed it. it was nice. the other thing is the dry, crveragey grass and everything else, the garden drying up. we could use a little rain. we have that in the forecast as well, some sunshine. now, what you see out there in illinois, kentucky, tennessee, that's not the rain that's in our forecast really. it's just the stuff that's closest to us right now. that's the remnants of the moisture from hermine, which produced a lot of problems in texas and the plains states and flooding. so that is not in our immediate future. sunshine is. details on that coming up in the forecast in just a second or two. but now we have some traffic issues. >> yeah, one is causing some problems, hopefully to be cleaned up before most of the rush starts. but right now, northbound 795 is shut down right at owings mills boulevard because of a crash ther

airlines could be on the horizon. >> kim dacey joins us live from federal hill with more on what this will mean for the airport and baltimore. >> southwest is the largest air carrier in baltimore. one economist says the announcement will mean good things for baltimore and bwi southwest airlines is the largest carrier for bwi, running 140 flights out of baltimore. a merger between southwest and airtran will mean more flights and more passengers. passengers will spend more money on things like parking and a food. that translates into more money for the city and state. >> there could be benefits for hotels if baltimore is a more convenient destination. convention planners will choose hotels here. that is good news. >> there are still some unanswered questions about the deal. no decisions have been made about eliminating employees. there will likely be job losses on the corporate level. more jobs could come to baltimore. >> southwest gets bigger at bwi. there are more flights. more flights mean more people needed to book the flights, to help passengers, including screening them throu

welcome back. i am stan stovall. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. let's get a check on weather and traffic. it is raining. >> it will slow things down. give yourself some extra time. keep a jacket and an umbrella with you. we will be in the 60's today. we can see moderate to heavy rain represented by the oranges and yellow. give yourself as much extra time as you can. we'll have periods of rain. there could be some breaks. high temperatures in the upper 60's and maybe do the low 70's if we are lucky. we will check the seven-day forecast coming up in just a few minutes. we will check on when things will clear up. >> we have a couple of accidents just in. eastbound 70 is a busy road. we have an accident reported past route 29. watch for delays there. westbound 100, the ramp from snowden river parkway has now been reopened. we're dealing with a new crash northbound on to 95 near 100. another spot where you could find some slow going. delays on the north side. it will be a slick start. nothing significant on the beltway. still moving pretty good on 95.
